Amazon amazing, astounding, reputable Customer reviews
The amazing and astounding structure of Amazon has become a commonly known name in many households. Their trust and reputation is so powerful that when the discussion of shopping comes up individuals almost immediately think of Amazon.
Yet, their partnership with Chase Visa could be “a pot of frustration” for far too many of their dedicated customers. As I was reading the customer reviews on the Chase Amazon credit card, I found that a big number of reviews on the charts show a “1” for the Amazon Prime Rewards credit card.
Amazon offers two different types of Visa Rewards credit cards on their website. both of the Amazon Rewards credit cards are actually authorized through Chase bank. Chase and Amazon offer the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card to prime members only. However, the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card is offered to anyone.
If you think that you want to apply for either of the cards, make sure you do your homework first. When you start your research or homework be you read the credit card customer reviews. As a matter of fact the reviews are a great place to start your review. There seems to be a lot of confusion, distrust and uncertainty about the involvement and honesty of Chase Bank with this credit card.
As of 3/22/21 Amazon had 43,616 globally rated reviews. The rating consists of 1 to 5 stars to show a visual of customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction. The rating shows that 17% of the customers are not happy with the treatment they receive from Chase concerning the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa credit card.
In real numbers over 7,400 individuals, many with a FICO of 800+ are totally frustrated with Chase and how they are handling this credit card.
Amazon's Amazing Credit Card Pros and Cons
What Amazing Pros does the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card Offer? Amazon credit cards offer the following perks.
- There is 5% back on Amazon and Whole Foods Market purchases with an eligible Prime membership. Notice that this does not say “cash back” on purchases.
- The next reward is 2% back at restaurants, gas stations, and drug stores.
- Then, there is 1% back on utilities, rideshare, and all other purchases.
- Also, there is no annual credit card fee.
What Cons do card holders experience when using the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card?
- Acquiring the 5% back if you have multiple Amazon.com accounts can cause confusion. In addition, both the 3% and 5% back is only available on eligible purchases, which can change without notice.
- Eligible purchases are thoroughly described by Chase on the Amazon Rewards Program Agreement.
- The agreement states numerous ways that you can lose points, and according to Chase the lost points will not be reinstated unless it is their fault.
- Problems associated with merchant codes may affect the amount of bonus points you can receive.
Amazing and Astounding Credit Card Policies
What type of situations are the customers facing with the Chase Amazon Prime Rewards credit card payment policies?
One of the customer reviews stated that she was concerned that Chase uses a form of “predatory interest policies” with this credit card, especially with payments. After reading that review, I read a few other reviews about the payment practices and interest rates.
The problems seems to be that the monthly statement does not come on-time or at all. The individuals are not able to go online and see the statement, therefore they are not able to make an online payment. After that, they are late paying the bill and slapped with a late fee and/or penalty.
In addition to the fees and penalty, the agreement states that a person may be temporally prohibited from using their card. The agreement states ” if you don’t make the minimum payment on your card account within 30 days of the due date.”
Also, if “you don’t make the minimum payment on your card account within 60 days of the due date or you fail to comply with this or other agreements you have with Chase” you may be prohibited from use.
Amazon Customer Review Patterns
I noticed one pattern in the customer reviews marked with a “1” on the Amazon website. Most of those individuals either had a FICO rating of 800 or more, or they were individuals who did not keep a balance on their credit cards. I also noticed that there would be a review directly contradicting the “1” with a review score of “5”.
Additionally, the contradiction would speak specifically to the issues that the individual with the score of “1” had given. If the same name what not shown in each case I would not think it was a company representative trying to throw off the bad reviews. These issues support my first recommendation to thoroughly read and understand the policy and practices before applying for the card or accepting this card.
Chase Amazon Credit Reports Concerns
Another amazing concern with the Chase Amazon Prime Credit credit card involved the hard pulls on the customers credit report. Once again these reports came from individuals with an 800+ credit rating. One individual with a 715 rating was turned down because of his credit score being too low. Nonetheless, the hard pull lowered his credit rating even more.
As amazing and astounding as Amazon is with customer service, the customer service at Chase was stated to be “horrible” in the least. It seems as if every individual who scored their review with a “1” or “2” gave the same scenario about the Chase customer service. These scenarios included being transferred from one person to another with no answer and the refusal to be switched to a supervisor.
